Town of Simsbury Code of Ethics/Guidelines for Gifts & Favors
Simsbury Public Schools is located twelve miles northwest of Hartford and is one of the Capitol Region's most desirable residential towns. Situated in the historic Farmington Valley, fine homes and abundant cultural, educational and shopping facilities have attracted citizens from a variety of professional and vocational backgrounds.
Simsbury residents enjoy a wide variety of cultural, historical, and recreational facilities. Outdoor recreation areas include the Massaco and Stratton Brook State Forests, the McLean Game Refuge, and the Talcott Mountain State Park. In addition, a modern recreation complex, Simsbury Farms, provides swimming pools, tennis courts, an 18-hole golf course, and a fitness trail. The University of Hartford's Hartt School of Music has selected Simsbury as the site of its first satellite school, where both a traditional program and a Suzuki program of music instruction are offered. The International Skating Center of Connecticut is also located in Simsbury and is home to renowned U.S. and international skaters who live and train in Simsbury as do many student skaters. Finally, groups such as Theater Guild and Simsbury Light Opera present Simsbury with cultural experiences.
Our district is made up of five K-6 elementary schools with a total population of 2,188 students; one 7-8 middle school with 748 students; and one comprehensive high school with 1,565 students. Simsbury employs approximately 900 people comprised of certified and non-certified support staff.
